Why EI? - Our Culture
The Proactive Approach | Vision/Mission Statement | Our Culture
- Accountability – I am truly responsible for my actions and outcomes and own everything that takes place in my work. I am accountable for my results and I know that for things to change, first I must change. I follow through on commitments to others and take personal ownership of problems or opportunities even if it falls outside of my normal job responsibilities – “That’s not my job” is unacceptable. I take responsibility for meeting all work and project deadlines. I concentrate on solving problems instead of placing blame and take responsibility for my own mistakes and for correcting them. – “When I am at our client’s site, I represent EI; When I am at EI, I represent our client”.
- Commitment – I give myself and everything I commit to 100 percent until I succeed. I am committed to the Vision, Mission, Culture, and success of EI, its current and future team, and its clients at all times. I believe in “asking for help” and in “providing help” for myself and team member’s on-going success.
- Communication – I speak positively of my fellow team members, my clients, and EI in both public and private. I speak candidly and honestly with others without regard for level within the organization. I communicate regularly with others with respect to projects, documentation and deadlines. Regardless of the situation, I speak to others with respect and consideration – “I communicate to clients and team members the way I would want them to communicate with me”. I never use or listen to gossip. I acknowledge what is being said as true for the speaker at that moment; however I look to validate all facts and circumstances. I take responsibility for all responses to my communication. I always apologize for any upsets first and then look for a solution. I only ever discuss concerns in private with the person involved.
- Client Focus – My desire is to help or serve clients to meet their needs. I respond to requests with efficiency and quality. I focus on the issues that the client deems important as well as those issues that the client has not yet anticipated or defined. I understand that the value added to a client is often in the role of advisor or partner.
- Consistency – I am consistent in my actions so my clients and teammates can feel comfortable in dealing with me at all times. I am disciplined in my work so my results, growth, and success are consistent.
- Education - I consistently learn and grow so that I can help my fellow team members and clients learn and grow too. “Consider everyone a potential teacher.” I take the initiative to gain knowledge through any means necessary including company and non-company sponsored opportunities. I take the time to assist inexperienced co-workers either by formal or informal training or by executing a general support role that includes walking alongside with the person I am teaching and inviting him/her to learn from my example. I learn from my mistakes. I am an educator and allow my clients to make their own intelligent decisions about their future, remembering that it is their future. I impart practical and useable knowledge rather than just theory.
- Excellence – Good enough, ISN’T. I realize that excellence is a balance of many factors and I always deliver products and services of exceptional quality that add value to all involved for the long term. I look for ways to do more with less and stay on a path of constant and never-ending improvement and innovation.
- Fun – I view my life as a journey to be enjoyed and appreciated and I create an atmosphere of fun and happiness so all around me enjoy it as well. “Work hard, have fun, get the job done.”
- Initiative – I actively volunteer to participate in work assignments outside of normal job responsibilities. I take the initiative to identify problems, opportunities, and areas for improvement without regard to my personal area of responsibility. “Bring solutions to the table, not just problems.” I actively suggest and participate in system improvements at my first opportunity to drive proven solutions and efficiencies.
- Integrity – I always speak the truth. What I promise is what I deliver. I only make agreements with myself and others that I am wiling and intend to keep. I properly communicate potential issues at the first opportunity and I clear up all problems immediately. I maximize my responsibility to the company by being a productive, engaged, and efficient team member.
- Personal – I have a balanced approach to life, remembering that my social, physical, and family aspects are just as important as my financial and intellectual. I complete my work and my most important tasks first, so I can have quality time to myself, with my family, and also to renew. I am a truly grateful person. I say thank-you and show appreciation often and in many ways. I celebrate my personal wins and the wins of my clients and team.
- Success – I totally focus my thoughts, energy, and attention on the successful outcome of whatever I am doing. I am willing to win and allow others to win: Win/Win. At all times, I display my inner pride, prosperity, competence, and personal confidence.
- Teamwork – I am a team player and team leader. I do whatever it takes to stay together and achieve team goals. I focus on cooperation and always come to a resolution, not a compromise. I am flexible in my work and able to change if what I’m doing is not working. I ask for help when needed and am willing and dedicated to providing help to others. I understand and take advantage of the fact that there is no hierarchy in EI’s team and will work with and treat each member of the team as a peer.
